Used to be a nice park
We moved to Westheights in 1980 and moved 39 years later. The park was the place we loved taking our young kids to and taking walks. It was a lovely park back in the day. Over the years, the pond filled with silt and became a dumping ground for people's unwanted goldfish and a breeding ground for mosquitos.
The park and the pond need a good cleanup, by removing the silt, cleaning up the vegetation around the pond and adding some concrete benches so people can sit and enjoy nature.
There is a LTC nearby and the pathways should be suitable for people with walkers and other mobility issues. There should be flat areas where the seniors can sit down either on their walkers or on some theft proof benches.
Include a few tables where people could enjoy a picnic.
Do whatever is possible to discourage Canada Geese. They're filthy bird, that pollutes the pond, grass and pathways.
