YWCA Cambridge Shelter
This project supports the Region of Waterloo's Strategic Plan Growing with Care:
In response to the urgent needs in the community, Region of Waterloo Council approved a new emergency shelter in Cambridge to support women and gender-diverse individuals. YWCA Cambridge has been actively seeking a location for an emergency shelter for women in Cambridge, and secured a location at Grace Bible Church in Cambridge.
Emergency shelters provide essential supports to those experiencing chronic homelessness in our community. YWCA Cambridge will operate the 20-bed temporary emergency shelter on a 24/7 basis, including wraparound supports such as mental and physical health services through a number of partnerships with other local service providers.
