As part of the ongoing implementation of the Outdoor Sportsfield Strategy (2012), the City of Waterloo upgraded Waterloo Park ball diamonds 3 and 4. The upgrades were completed in Summer 2024. The goal of the upgrades was to maximize the capacity of the existing diamonds and better meet the needs of the people using them.

In total, as part of the implementation of the Outdoor Sportsfield Strategy, the City upgraded five ball diamonds in Waterloo.
