Technical Remediation Advisory Committee (TRAC) Meeting - November 14, 2024
The meeting opened with a Land Acknowledgement, followed by disclosures of pecuniary interest and approval of previous minutes. Key topics included an update on the replacement of on-site containment well PW5 with PW6 and an update from the Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks (MECP) regarding LANXESS's proposed amendment to biomonitoring requirements, MECP comments on the company's 2023 Annual Monitoring Report and the Human Health & Ecological Risk Assessment (HHERA) revisions. LANXESS Canada Co. provided updates on ongoing revisions to the Human Health & Ecological Risk Assessment (HHERA), comments to questions from the TRAC committee, the 2018 Technological Evaluation study and proposed Fish Tissue Study Design for biological monitoring. The committee further discussed remediation frameworks to meet the 2028 Order deadline and TRAC's planned biannual presentation to Council in February as well as preliminary plans for their 2025 meeting schedule. The next meeting was rescheduled for December 9, 2024 before the meeting adjourned. Technical Remediation Advisory Committee (TRAC) Meeting - September 12, 2024
The meeting began with a Land Acknowledgement, followed by disclosures of pecuniary interest and the approval of previous minutes. Key discussions included updates from LANXESS Canada Co., including a follow-up from the September 10th Technical Experts Meeting, summer fieldwork updates, and progress on the 2024 LANXESS Work Plan.
A detailed presentation by GHD/Alan Deal covered the historical location of Dense Non-Aqueous Phase Liquids (DNAPL) and LANXESS's off-site isotopic analysis study. The committee also discussed remediation frameworks to meet the 2028 Order deadline. Other topics included the upcoming fall presentation to Council, Ontario Drinking Water Quality Standards for NDMA, and correspondence.
The next meeting was scheduled for November 14, 2024, and the meeting adjourned.

TRAC Bi-Annual Update to Council - Woolwich Township Council Meeting - August 27, 2024

The committee reviewed the LANXESS April 2024 Monthly Progress Report and received updates on several key items, including revisions to the Human Health & Ecological Risk Assessment (HHERA), the removal of hotspots in Canagagigue Creek, and written comments from the Technical Advisory Committee (TAG) and the Ministry of the Environment, Conservation & Parks (MECP) regarding the LANXESS Canagagigue Creek Clam Biomonitoring Program.
