Help Shape the Future of the Region of Waterloo Library Services

The Region of Waterloo Library (RWL) is conducting a service review to ensure our libraries continue to meet the needs of all residents. Whether you’re a frequent visitor or an occasional user, we want your input on how to improve our services. Your feedback will help shape the next 2025-2029 Service Plan, which will guide our services in the years to come.

Goals of the Review

  • Improve accessibility to library services for all community members.
  • Review and update programming to better serve residents of all ages.
  • Assess current operating hours and determine if changes are needed.
  • Align services with community needs while addressing any barriers to access.

What is a library service review?

The purpose of the Library Service Review is the process to assess and enhance the services provided by the Region of Waterloo Library (RWL). This review will be informed by community input, especially within the 4 townships where the 11 library branches are located, and in collaboration with area municipalities. Reports and decision making will be directed by the Region of Waterloo Library Committee and Region of Waterloo Council.

  • Thank you for participating in the Region of Waterloo Library Service Review Survey. The purpose of this survey is to gather feedback from residents to better understand your experiences with the Region of Waterloo library locations and services. We want to hear from you about what is working well and what is not so that we can use your feedback to make improvements to our services, programs, and locations. This survey is being conducted in partnership with our Client Experience team.

    Survey details:

    • The survey will take 10 -15 minutes to complete. 
    • You will need to complete the survey in one sitting. 
    • All answers will remain confidential and anonymous.
    • Please answer the questions in this survey as honestly as possible.
    • Residents who complete the survey are eligible to win one of four available $50 gift cards to a local business. 
    • Please make sure to click the link at the end of the survey to enter the gift card draw. 
    • Please only complete the survey once.
    • If you would like an alternate version of the survey, such as a paper copy, or you would like to give your answers over the phone please contact the Region of Waterloo Library Headquarters at 519-575-4590. The Region of Waterloo is committed to creating an inclusive and barrier-free environment. Please let us know if you require an accommodation and we will work with you to meet your accessibility needs.

    After your survey is complete:

    • All of your data and responses will be collected by the Region of Waterloo's Client Experience Team.  
    • A small number of library staff will have access to the survey data to help make improvements to library services. 
    • Library staff will not see your answers, and your responses will not have a negative effect on any services you receive from the Region of Waterloo. 
    • Responses to the survey will be collected and reported as average scores or common themes. Any information that could identify you will be removed.
