This is the sign for Roselea Park, located at 99 Rose Lea Crescent, Waterloo

The City of Waterloo and neighbourhood partners are working together to develop a new playground at Roselea Park. The city is designing and managing the installation of a new playground for the neighbourhood. Community representatives are fundraising to optimize the value of play equipment that will be installed in the playground.

The new playground is anticipated to be completed in fall of 2020, and will be located adjacent the skating rink location. It will not impact the function of the skating rink. The new playground will provide play opportunities for children ages 18 months to 12 years. The playground may include a variety of climbing elements, slides, and independent spring/spin toys.

Fundraising update:

Thank you so much to everyone who donated funds to the Roselea Park playground project. With your help, the project budget increased by $15,000 ($7,500 community raised funds, and $7,500 neighbourhood matching fund grant). These funds helped increase our playground budget, and allows us to install a community board in the park.

Playground design update:

Earlier this summer we encouraged the community to share their thoughts on the new playground. Thank you for taking the time to complete our survey. Using your feedback and the increased funding, we modified the playground to best suit community needs. The following changes were incorporated based on feedback:

  • Playground Option 1 was used as a base model for modifications.
  • The glide rail and monkey bars were maintained as a secondary senior climbing structure.
  • A second slide was added to the main structure.
  • The Lunar Scooter, Spring Toy, and U-Sway Swing were all included in the play area to maximize ground level play opportunity.
  • Play panels were added to increase play opportunity for younger users.
  • A store front was added based on popular demand.
  • The Playground was designed with "Peacock" colours based on community vote.

Thank you!

Thank you to everyone who provided input into the design. The new playground structure has been installed and we hope you enjoy it!
