In 2019, the City of Kitchener initiated a formal traffic calming review for Robert Ferrie Drive. This was in response to resident concerns about road safety on Robert Ferrie Drive. As a result of this review, the following traffic calming measures were installed on Robert Ferrie Drive in 2021 after resident support and Council approval:
A raised crosswalk at Tilt Drive Trail between Reynold Court and Forest Creek Drive
Intersection narrowing at Robert Ferrie Drive and Bridleridge Street
A speed cushion between Bridleridge Street and Doon South Drive
In September 2022, we collected traffic volume and speed data on Robert Ferrie Drive. That data was compared to the data collected in 2019, prior to the installation of the traffic calming measures.
* The 85th percentile speed is the speed at which 85% of vehicles are traveling at or below.
Neighborhood participation has been essential throughout the traffic calming process. At this point, we would like your feedback on the effects of the traffic calming on Robert Ferrie Drive. The survey is located below this section in the Survey tool.
Please complete the follow-up survey below before Monday, December 12, 2022.
