Queen Victoria statue community discussion rescheduled for Thursday, Nov. 24
After a successful Ask Jay Anything Instagram Live session last week, the City has decided to reschedule the first community discussion: witnessing circle. The Community Discussion: Witnessing Circle is now rescheduled for Thursday, Nov. 24, from 5:30 – 8 p.m. at the Kitchener Market, 300 King St. E.
With the highly engaged group of individuals who attended the Ask Jay Anything session, more feedback was collected than originally anticipated. The City is working with Jay Pitter Placemaking to incorporate the feedback, discussion and questions received into the first in-person community session. A summary of the Ask Jay Anything session will be posted ahead of the Novmeber session.
Registration for the community discussions is required. Child minding, transit passes, and a light meal will be provided at community discussions. To register for the November 24 community discussion, fill out the registration form or call (519) 741-2200 ext. 7407.
If you previously registered for the Nov. 10 session, you have been automatically registered for the November 24 session and will receive confirmation details in the next few days. If you cannot attend on November 24, please email shannon.lodenquai@kitchener.ca.
Warm regards,
Engage Kitchener
This initiative is now complete. On Dec. 16, 2024, Council directed staff to do no further engagement or education at this time. Instead, through the Arts and Creative Industries Action Plan, staff will explore the option to develop a community co-led, co-designed commemorative installation in Victoria Park.
