Let’s imagine the future of parks in Cambridge!

Cambridge is developing an updated Parks Master Plan that will guide the planning and operations for all the parks in our city for the next 30 years.

The goal of the Parks Master Plan is to provide a framework to manage existing parks and develop new parks in a way that reflects the needs of our growing community. This is important to make sure that everyone in Cambridge has access to parks in their neighbourhood.

Parks are what make our communities special. They are where we meet friends and family, connect to nature, participate in events, and play!

We need your help.

We want to create a Parks Master Plan that reflects community values and priorities for our parks for the next 30 years. Your input is important to help us meet the needs of all members of our community.

Through our surveys and public meetings to date we heard your feedback:

  • add to the variety and improve the maintenance of park amenities
  • create spaces for sports such as pickleball, tennis, and cricket, and different types of recreation such as disc golf and skateparks
  • increase the number of shade structures, seating options and path systems
  • more natural areas, parklands, off-leash areas, and washrooms are needed
  • make changes and upgrades to equipment for some parks
  • detailed ideas for improving specific local parks
  • address accessibility, safety, and user experience in park design and maintenance

In 2024, the next steps involve incorporating the input we received into draft levels of service for Council consideration and development of a draft Parks Master Plan for further consultation.
