This project is now complete. Based on your feedback, we are expanding and developing tailored programs that promote Kitchener’s Age-Friendly vision to live well and age well. Learn more at kitchener.ca/OlderAdults

We want to hear from you about the programs we offer for adults aged 55+ at City of Kitchener community centres. Whether you are thinking of your future, or you are retired or semi-retired, this is a great opportunity to have your voice heard. If you are an informal care partner to an older adult, you may also contribute on their behalf.

About older adult programs

We currently offer registered and drop-in programs for older adults aged 55+ at three designated Seniors Active Living Centres:

These centres offer many programs and services for seniors, including:

  • Health promotion and wellness programs
  • Educational workshops
  • Volunteer opportunities
  • Events
  • Social groups

The programs and services at those locations are highly valued by residents. But we have heard that older adults would also prefer more programs closer to their homes within their neighbourhood.

We recently started offering more older adult programs at other Kitchener community centres as well. This will not only improve access to these programs, but also support older adults in developing social connections within their own neighbourhoods.

We want to hear from you

Our goal is for current and future Kitchener residents aged 55+ to have access to welcoming and inclusive programs in their neighbourhoods that support wellness and active living.

As we continue to expand our programs, we want to hear from you. Help us understand what programs interest you and best meet your needs. Tell us what makes it difficult to attend programs offered at community centres, and how we can improve.

We will use your feedback to improve and create new social, recreational and fitness programs in your neighbourhood. This is an important step towards our age-friendly vision of a community where we can all live well and age well.
