Project Description:
The new splash pad at Lions Can-Amera Park aims to provide diverse recreational opportunities for the neighborhood. Located off Saginaw Parkway on the park's north side, adjacent to Clemens Mill Public School, this splash pad is ideally situated for easy access.

Splash Pad Options

Option 1 – Forest and Pond Theme


This theme incorporates playful elements inspired by nature, offering the experience of walking through a forest or alongside a pond brought to life through water play. Splash elements in this theme include:

  • The Fox
  • The Cattail
  • The Leaflet
  • The Butterfly

Option 2 – The High Seas


This adventurous theme is designed to immerse visitors in the feeling of sailing the high seas, with exciting water features inspired by marine life. Splash elements in this theme include:

  • The Whale Fin
  • The Ship
  • The Reef Star
  • The Octopus


Accessibility and Inclusivity

The proposed splash pad is designed to meet high standards of accessible and inclusive play, creating an engaging environment for people of all abilities and ages. With a range of water elements catering to different sensory and interactive play styles, it ensures enjoyment for young children, teens, and adults alike. The splash pad features hard-surface concrete pathways for easy navigation with mobility aids and provides strategically placed benches and tables as gathering spots for families and caregivers. This design encourages both active and sensory play, fostering an inclusive and welcoming experience for the entire community.

Hillside Viewing Area
A gently sloped hillside adjacent to the splash pad will provide a unique, elevated vantage point where families can relax and enjoy a scenic, top-down view of the play area. This natural seating space, complete with shaded areas, allows for comfortable extended stays and makes it easy for families and caregivers to observe their children. The hillside enhances the splash pad's inviting atmosphere, offering both active play and leisurely enjoyment in a beautifully landscaped setting.

New Shade Structure
A thoughtfully designed shade structure will provide respite from the sun, making it possible for visitors to comfortably enjoy the splash pad throughout the day.
