Grand River Transit (GRT) underwent a number of changes to its MobilityPLUS specialized service this year, following a review in 2020. The changes ensure alignment with the Accessibility of Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and equitable access to the service for all customers. One of the main changes is that MobilityPLUS customers can book a trip for any reason on a first-come, first-served basis, regardless of the purpose of the trip.

GRT is now seeking public feedback on two additional recommended changes to MobilityPLUS service.

  1. Requiring that customers in need of regular dialysis appointments apply to MobilityPLUS service. If approved, trips would be booked through the same process as all other MobilityPLUS customers (based on a first-come, first-served basis, regardless of the purpose). This will ensure equitable access to the service for all.
  2. Creating more MobilityPLUS eligibility categories. This will better accommodate customers who need service under conditions other than winter, such as but not limited to summer months and life sustaining treatment (e.g. dialysis).

Please provide your feedback on these recommended changes by completing the survey below. Survey results will be shared with Regional Council as they decide how to move forward.
