Grand River Union Logo

This is the logo of Grand River Union, a local grassroots campaign that exists to promote community unity through our shared love of the beautiful game! (aka soccer)

Formed roughly 8 years ago, one of the main initiatives is to campaign for a local professional soccer team to play in Waterloo region.

Hence our slogan "SINCE day one" It is an acronym of all the tributaries that flow into the Grand River; Speed, Irvine, Nith, Conestogo and Eramosa! The Grand is a river that connects all communities and neighbourhood's in our region. Also we are inspired by the iconic Great Blue Heron, a majestic bird that can be found wading and nesting through all these waters.

What the Grand means to us is community, passion, beauty and opportunity!

Unfortunately between the loss of the our local soccer team "KW United" in 2018 and the pandemic during the years following, momentum has slowed for our group.
