Eby Farmstead, a feature of Waterloo Park since the late 1960s, underwent a community-driven evaluation to determine its future.

Following an extensive engagement process throughout the Summer 2024, Council approved staff's recommendation to conclude the live animal display at Eby Farmstead in Waterloo Park.

The animals will be re-homed, and the former enclosure space will be reimagined as part of the Waterloo Park Plan update in 2025.




Background:

On May 13, 2024, staff presented an initial report to Council (p. 57 of document), including:

Council approved the direction to move forward with a community engagement campaign to gauge the public’s interest in either improvements for the future of Eby Farmstead, or reimagining of the space it currently occupies.

Current Opportunities:

There are currently no engagement opportunities for this project.
