On October 2nd, 2023, the Community and Infrastructure Services Committee approved a recommendation for a formal traffic calming review of Dumfries Avenue, which City council ratified that same month. The purpose of the review is to address traffic issues and concerns on along Dumfries Avenue. As part of the Traffic Calming Policy, we need at least 25% community support before initiating a formal review. We surveyed affected residents in fall 2023 and received enough support to start.
We did a comprehensive review, read input received from residents, and evaluated traffic calming measures. Based on this, we developed a draft preferred traffic calming plan. We are now looking for your feedback on the draft plan.
Virtual Public Information Centre
There is a virtual Public Information Centre scheduled for Thursday, February 8, 2023, from 6:30 to 9 p.m. During this session, you will have opportunity to learn about the draft plan and share your feedback.

If you are unable to attend the virtual meeting, the presentation and draft traffic calming plan will be available on this webpage. They will be posted after the meeting for your review and feedback. This project is now complete. Please note that no final survey will be administered. In summer 2024, it was determined by Council that we will no longer implement safety improvements through a formal traffic calming program. We have moved to a hot spot improvement model instead.
