May 2024 update

Please be advised the city’s hired contractor, Earth Boring Ltd has two work items to complete on Dodge Drive this spring.

Item 1: Maintenance hole repair between 238 Dodge Dr. and 246 Dodge Dr.

To complete this work, the contractor, Earth Boring Ltd, will have to close this street to through traffic and remove a section of the road for approximately one week on Dodge drive between 238 and 246 Dodge. These repairs are scheduled to begin, on or about, Wednesday May 15, 2024 (weather permitting) and expected to take approximately one week.

During the road closure properties can access their driveways as follows:

  • Properties located West of #246 Dodge Drive can access their driveways via West limit of Dodge Drive
  • Properties located East of #238 Dodge Drive can access their driveways via East limit of Dodge Drive.

Item 2: Double surface treatment of Dodge Drive (full limits)

The double surface treatment of the roadway operation will follow the maintenance hole repair work and is anticipated to occur the week of May 21. The duration of this work will take one full working day to complete. This is a moving operation and there will be numerous heavy construction equipment onsite.

Access to properties will be maintained during this operation but note that there may be short to medium term duration delays for access. Flaggers will be onsite to help direct traffic. Please drive slowly and safely through the work zone.

What to expect during construction

Work Hours

Work will take place from 7 a.m. up to 7 p.m., Monday to Friday. Work is not planned during the long weekend / Victoria Day stat holiday.

Construction noise

You may experience intermittent noise and vibration during construction (from vacuum trucks, excavators, dump trucks, power generators, air compressors, paving equipment, concrete equipment, etc.).

Moving in/out and Deliveries

Efforts will be made to accommodate properties that have scheduled move-ins / move-outs and deliveries. Please contact the site inspector in advance to advise of any delivery access.

Garbage and Recycling

Please have materials placed at curbside before 7 a.m. on your collection day. If required, the contractor will move bins to an appropriate location and return them in reasonable amount of time. Please ensure that you label your bins with your address.

Site Inspector

If you have construction questions or an issue onsite we ask that you be directed to the site inspector who is onsite daily and wearing a white hardhat with either the City logo on it.
