The cities of Cambridge, Kitchener and Waterloo are looking for your support to develop a Regional Cricket Strategy. This strategy will:
chart a path towards responding to community interest in cricket
support the growth of the game at a grassroots level
work towards a consistent and harmonious provision of cricket facilities
In the last decade the region has witnessed a significant increase in interest in the sport of cricket. Local cricket organizations and community members have expressed concerns about a lack of adequate facilities. Cricket organizations in the Region have expressed concern that the current cricket pitch inventory is not enough to meet demand. But there are limited options for land on which to build additional pitches. Also, demand for cricket must be balanced with other popular field sports.
The Regional Cricket Strategy aims to address these concerns. The Cities have partnered with Optimus SBR, an independent and unbiased third party, to develop the overall strategy.
