What we heard about the design options

In fall 2024, we hosted an open house for Countryside Park. Thank you to everyone who joined us at the Open House on Oct. 29, 2024, and gave their feedback on the proposed design.

Common Themes

• Design: You expressed support for the proposed pond and design
• Planting: You were in support of planting more trees and native species, and expressed the importance of tree maintenance
• Safety: We heard concerns around children’s safety around the pond, and you expressed the importance of safety features such as fences. Other safety features for stormwater ponds include:
  • Signage
  • Buffer zones
  • Railings
  • Natural planting barriers
• Trail Network: We heard support for trail improvements such as paving the trail and winter maintenance

Next Steps

Once a final design is confirmed, it will be shared here on the project page. We will reach out to community members again as we get closer to construction.

Construction is expected to begin in 2028. We will be back in touch before that time to share detailed construction plans so you can know what to expect. Throughout, we will continue to use share any project updates through the project page.
