Bike share service being piloted in Waterloo Region

This project supports the Region of Waterloo's strategic focus area(s): 
Private bike share provider, Drop Mobility is piloting their services in the cities of Cambridge, Kitchener, and Waterloo in 2019.
Drop Mobility's bike share technology is built into their bicycles instead of docking stations, so no special or costly infrastructure is required for bike stations. This allows for smaller and more flexible stations and the use of regular bike racks as stations (known as "Hubs" or "Havens").
The Drop Mobility app is used to find and unlock bikes. Once the bike trip is completed, the bike can be left securely at a marked station using the provided lock-to technology equipped on the bike. Users are charged per hour of use.
Download the Drop Mobility app through your preferred app store to find available bikes and stations near you. Station recommendation received through EngageWR will be shared with Drop Mobility. In addition to this data, Drop Mobility will be adding stations and allocating bikes based off of usage patterns. The plan is to increase the number of stations over the course of the pilot.

The Drop Mobility pilot is planned to end by December 2019. The last day to complete the survey is Sunday December 1st, 2019.
Additional project details
The Region of Waterloo and the cities of Cambridge, Kitchener, and Waterloo have been working collaboratively with Drop Mobility to determine whether a dockless model of bike sharing such as theirs is well-suited for the Waterloo Region.
As more people use the bikes, staff will revisit the station network and locations that may not have been initially selected. Staff will also share proposed locations on private property with organizations that wish to participate in the pilot.

Your bikeshare station (Drop Mobility hub) recommendations
Some things to consider:
Is it close to places you travel to regularly?
Do you feel comfortable biking in that area?
Are there transit stops nearby where you would like to pick-up or leave a bike?
Is it somewhere where you would like to begin a recreational group ride?
Is it on public property? Stations on private property may be possible as the pilot progresses and new partnerships are formed.
