Update on Alpine Park woodlot trails

Some neighbours have reached out about a liquid substance observed at the edges of the new woodlot trail.

To help stabilize steep sections of the woodlot trail a binder material was mixed with the stonedust before it was installed. Pockets of binder may have formed during mixing and, during recent heavy rains, swelled and leached.

Though unsightly, any liquid resulting from leached binder material is not toxic.

We are working with the contractor and supplier to address this as soon as possible. For safety and warranty reasons, please remain outside of the fenced construction area and do not move any temporary fencing.

We appreciate your continued patience. If you have any questions, contact Rebecca Roy, Landscape Architect, at rebecca.roy@kitchener.ca
