Wilfrid Laurier University is proposing interior renovations to the existing building to repurpose the semi-detached dwelling for office, academic and ancillary uses associated with Wilfrid Laurier University. The University intends to use the building as the Grad House.

- allowing university academic uses within the existing building which are not currently allowed
Zoning bylaw changes requested include:
- rezoning from Residential Conservation One (RC1) to Residential Conservation One (RC1)
- allowing University/College uses
- allowing a minimum distance from the rear property line of 10.0 metres, where it requires 11.85 metres
- allowing a minimum distance from the side property line of 2.9 metres, it requires 4.23 metres
- allowing a reduced parking requirement of 1 parking space from 3 parking spaces
