Consultation for this project has concluded

Since 2015 staff has been working to develop a strategy to address aging aquatic infrastructure within the City of Cambridge. The 2015 Recreation Facility Needs Assessment Report concluded that the city’s present and future aquatic infrastructure requirements would best be served by a new multi-purpose indoor aquatic facility, which is currently underway with the construction of the Cambridge Recreation Complex. On November 18, 2020, Council voted to move forward with the Future Outdoor Pool Operating Strategy which recommended that the Kinsman Soper Park pool close at the end of the 2021 season.

With the pool scheduled to close, the City has an opportunity to update that space in a fresh and exciting way that will serve the community for years to come. We're looking to get community input that will help us shape with the future of this space will look like. Share your own ideas or vote on others with our Ideas section and take our Survey to help us understand how you use our parks.

This ideas section and survey is now closed.

The presentation (shown on the right, listed under "videos" was available to see some ideas on what the space could potentially be. NOTE: These were just potential ideas. These concepts were provided not to be picked from, but as a jumping-off point for brainstorming and to give some ideas on what amenities may be possible.

Revised June 2022.
