Public Update: Sault Park Playground Decision

We are excited to announce that Option 1 was chosen by the public for the new playground at Sault Park. Construction is expected to begin in Summer 2025, and we can't wait to see the transformation!

Project Overview

The Sault Park East project has been carefully designed to cater to children of all ages and abilities. The proposed plan includes two distinct playground areas that offer various play feature differences in contrast to the Sault Park West Playground (Pratt Place)

Senior Playground: Designed for older children, offering a range of challenging and engaging play structures.

Junior Playground: Tailored for younger children, providing safe and fun activities that foster development and imagination.

An accessible pathway, complete with an accessible ramp, connects both playgrounds, ensuring inclusivity and ease of access for all visitors. In addition to the play areas, the design incorporates new seating areas and the planting of trees, creating a welcoming and shaded environment for families and community members to enjoy.

Cambridge Highland Lions Club

We would like to give recognition to Cambridge Highland Lions Club for their support with this project and the donation geared towards the new playground. We will be looking to formalize their recognition.

Future Plans

While the original plan for Sault Park included a basketball court, unforeseen circumstances have required us to address this feature in a future phase. We remain committed to enhancing recreational opportunities in the park and will prioritize the other potential features in the future. This phased approach allows us to focus on delivering the current playground upgrades while planning for the park's continued growth and improvement.

We invite you to view the detailed playground concepts and share your feedback. Your input will help shape the final design and ensure Sault Park becomes a vibrant and inclusive space for all.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support as we work to create a park that meets the needs of our entire community.

You can also read through the ideas that others have submitted and provide comments on that post, or click the heart to "like" their idea if you agree. Please be aware that a splash pad feature can't be considered at this point in time.Note: Be courteous to everyone and use this feedback tool constructively. It is important to note that while all feedback is valued, the project budget and scope will be adhered to. This ideas board is open from April 3rd to April 30th, 2024.

I know it's not being considered at this time, but I also really want a splash pad...

I know you say a splash pad cannot be considered at this point in time... Can we hold off until one CAN be considered? Otherwise a running track, tennis court, basketball court, picnic area with actual shade - really anything here would be nice. I'd even be down for a skate park. There's a lot of great suggestions here :) I know a few people suggested dog park but honestly I've lived near one twice before and you be surprised how many people either don't pick up after their dogs (Or they bag…
