Queen Street W Design Assignment

Welcome to the project page for the Queen St W reconstruction design assignment. The scope of this design assignment is for approximately 720 meters of collector roadway. The project includes the following road segments:

• Queen St W from Winston Boulevard to Weaver Street (Watermain Only)
• Queen St W from Weaver Street to Rooshill Avenue (Asphalt Resurfacing Only)
• Queen St W from Rooshill Avenue to Shepherd Avenue (Full Reconstruction)
• Queen St W from Shepherd Avenue to 408 Queen Street W (Watermain Only)

The design includes the reconstruction of storm sewers, watermains, sanitary sewers, service laterals, granular materials, concrete works, and asphalt pavement within the project limits for the full reconstruction segment. The watermain only segments include only watermain renewal with restorations as required.

Project Announcement

The City of Cambridge is thrilled to announce the successful approval of our application for the Housing Enabling Water Systems Fund to support the reconstruction of Queen Street West in 2026.

Project Status

The project is currently at 60% design. A summary of the survey results will be posted in the new year with responses from the project team.

Public Consultation

The online survey has now closed. Thank you for everyone who completed the survey and provided valuable feedback.

An in-person Public Information Centre was hosted on Wednesday, October 30th from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM in the Optimist Room of the Hespeler Memorial Arena located at 640 Ellis Rd, Cambridge. Residents are encouraged to drop by during this time to learn more about the project and provide feedback.
