Survey: Duke Street Cycling Improvements (Francis to Frederick)
The Region of Waterloo is looking to improve Duke Street (between Frederick Street and Francis Street) for cyclists, while maintaining the street’s role for the other transportation modes. This project is in support of the City of Kitchener’s Downtown Cycling Network (https://www.engagewr.ca/downtown-cycling-grid).
Following a comprehensive review of different types of facilities designed primarily for use by cyclists (see: Cycling Facility Types and Screening Results), the Project Team, consisting of Region and City staff, has identified a combination of separated bike lanes and a neighbourhood bikeway as the balanced approach that would best enhance the cycling network while maintaining the needs of pedestrians, transit users, and motorists.
This survey is being conducted to gather your insights about the preferred options along the Region’s portion of Duke Street in downtown Kitchener.
Please allow 5-10 minutes to complete the survey. The survey deadline is March 13, 2022.
We strongly suggest that you read the project Frequently Asked Questions document before you begin the survey to help understand the decision made behind the proposed solutions.
