Will there be separate spaces for large dogs and small dogs?

No, the space is not large enough to accommodate two separate areas properly.

It will be 7,000 square metres, which is about the size of a high school soccer field.

Will there be seating in the leash-free area?

No, it's not safe for owners to be stationary in a leash-free area as it can cause dogs to be territorial or defensive. However, the plan is to have benches outside of the off-leash area.

Will there be a shelter for rain/snow and sun?

There will be shade trees planted within and outside the leash-free area, but no shelter to avoid dogs establishing a territory around their owners and becoming defensive.

Yes! The plan is to have a water tap for filling up dog bowls, along with a drinking water fountain for humans.

    Will there be a washroom?

No, there is no washroom building proposed as part of this project.

Is there going to be a garbage bin?

Yes, there will be a Puppy Poop Power dog waste unit, which converts the collected dog waste into energy. These units are also mostly underground to help contain odours.

Additionally, there will be a garbage container for non-biodegradable waste.

    Will there be lighting?

Yes, the plan is to have solar powered lighting.

Will the dog park be accessible?

There will be two accessible parking spots with barrier-free access, along with sloped paths leading to the entrance that meet accessibility standards.

    Will there be parking?

There will be two accessible only parking spots on site. The plan is also to have on-street parallel parking along Copper Street.

Will the surface of the off-leash area be grass?

Yes, most of the surface will be grass. There will also be accessible stone dust paths at the entrance/exit where foot traffic is most concentrated.
