Review of the Breslau Settlement Plan Policies

The Township of Woolwich initiated a review of the Breslau Settlement Plan Policies in conjunction with reviewing the Official Plan.

The Township retained NPG Planning Solutions to undertake a review of the Township’s Official Plan which was initiated at the beginning of 2023. A number of consultation sessions were held this past May to develop a broader community vision for the Township. While the Official Plan review was proceeding, the Province approved an amendment to the Regional Official Plan (i.e., ROPA #6) significantly expanding the urban area of a number of communities throughout the Region, including the Breslau Settlement Area. In response to this approved urban expansion of Breslau, Township Staff is separately reviewing the current Breslau Settlement Plan Policies which was previously approved in 2017.

The purpose of this first community-building open house is to present for discussion and input:

  • the proposed new urban settlement limits of Breslau as established by ROPA #6;
  • a number of land use concepts and corresponding population projections within this new urban area as well as potential changes to existing land uses designations within the current settlement limits; and
  • information on potential transportation and servicing strategies.

The Township is very enthusiastic about the opportunity of working with the entire community on this important project and invite you to participate and provide your input to help shape the long-term vision for the proposed new urban limits of Breslau as shown on the map above and linked in the documents widget.

Comments and information regarding this project are being collected to assist the Township in developing a plan to manage future growth, facilitate the provision of services and protect the natural / heritage resources in Breslau. With the exception of personal information, all comments will become part of the Public Record and may be used in any future Township Report.
