Project details

The City of Cambridge is proceeding with the reconstruction of Beverly Street, and the construction of a new pedestrian underpass adjacent to the existing vehicular underpass. This work includes:

  • road reconstruction on Beverly Street from Dundas Street North to Elgin Street North;
  • a new multi-use trail (MUT) connection along Beverly Street
  • a new pedestrian underpass at the CP rail crossing.

Public consultation

Two Public Information Centres were completed as part of the Environmental Assessment (EA) to present and receive feedback on:

  • study area issues;
  • preliminary design alternatives; and
  • the recommended plan.

An additional Public Information Centre was held on this virtual platform in November 2020 to receive feedback on the detailed design.


Project timeline

Construction is scheduled to begin April 2024.

Beverly Street Survey

The City of Cambridge is looking for public feedback for the proposed road reconstruction project on Beverly Street from Dundas Street W. to Samuelson Street.  Project team values your input in the decision-making process.  The design for the road reconstruction and Multi Use Trail that include CP rail under pass construction is currently 60% complete and is scheduled to be finished in December 2020.  Construction of this project will occur in two phases:

  • Phase 1: Construction of CP Rail under Pass – Summer of 2021
  • Phase 2: Construction of Beverly Street, that include full road reconstruction, Multi Use Trail and Regional Watermain Construction – tentatively scheduled for 2023
